Dorothy Faye Tyler Stokes, 75, of Savannah, passed away Saturday May 27th, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A native of Metter, she was the daughter of Jack L. Tyler and Roabie Cowart Tyler.
She was Secerary for Union Oil company - Uni Cal, and a graduate of Savannah High School. A Member of Bible Baptist Church, and a former member of Taliaferro Baptist Church until it closed. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Alee Shrine Temple, and a member of the Dune Cats Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack L. Tyler and Roabie Cowart Tyler.
She is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Alvin Stokes, Sr., of Savannah, GA., her three sons, James Randy Stokes, Mark Allen Stokes, Jason Reed Stokes, two sisters, Jacquie Martensen, Christine Mitchell and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at 11:00 am in Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with a very close family friend, Dr. Charles G. Cooper, Sr. officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the Dune Cats. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
