Doris Lawson Barfield, 68 of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully, at 1:44 pm, Friday, April 28, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah after having heart complications.
She was born July 10, 1948, in Chattanooga, TN to Claude and Sarah Lawson. She married Jack H. Barfield Jr., who preceded her in death 4 years earlier.
Doris was a long time resident of Savannah, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Union, SC. She graduated from Union High School and was a bookkeeper and school teacher at Gould Elementary School in Savannah.
Surviving are her Siblings, Patricia Price, Robert Lawson & Sandy Burgess; Sons and daughter-in-laws; Jack (Robin) Barfield, Christopher Barfield, Greg (Jennifer) Barfield; Grandchildren, Jack IV (Emily), Brandon (Meredith), Ashley (Adam) Burton, Brooke, Shelby, Morgan, Charlianna, Karilena, Kline & Cole; Great Grandchild, Isabella Burton. Preceding her in death are Mother, Father, and Sister, Claudette.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, at 5:00 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, Hodgson Memorial Drive. Reverend Steve McCoy will be presiding over the memorial.
