Doris Elizabeth "Tiny" Sheppard

Doris Elizabeth “Tiny” Sheppard, age 89, of Cartersville, GA and formerly of Savannah, GA passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Mrs. Sheppard was born in Savannah, GA on May 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Nona Rosemond Smith Baker and William Cooper “Bill” Baker, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Layton “Doc” Sheppard; her sister, Geraldine Baker “Geri” Grantham; and grandson, Harry Lee Vinson. She is survived by her daughters, Karen J. Vinson (Gary, Sr.) and Gwendolyn J. “Gwen” Patterson (Patrick); siblings, Gloria Jean Baker “Jane” Tuten (B. Edward, Jr.), Patricia Ann “Billie” Baker, William Cooper “Bubba” Baker, Jr. (Betsy), John Richard “Johnny” Baker (Jill), and Mary Louise Baker “Mimi” Shannon; grandsons, Gary T. Vinson, Jr. (Crystal) and Tyler Patterson; great grandsons, Tommy and Bryan Vinson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, GA.
