Doretha Lambert

November 6, 1956 — March 29, 2020

Ms. Doretha “Dodie” Jackson Lambert, 63, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday March 29, 2020. She passed peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Doretha was born November 26, 1956 to the late Johnnie C. and Eula Mae Jackson in Bartow, GA. Her brothers Tommy Lee and Willie James Jackson preceded her in death.

Doretha was educated in the Chatham County Public School System. She loved to cook, and she was well known for her great dishes. She worked at Sodexo for many years before joining the food service team at Gadsen Elementary. She remained a part of the staff until her health forced her to retire in May 2018.

Dodie leaves to cherish her memories people who loved and were beloved by her. She leaves behind three devoted and loving children. Angelina (Richard) Jackson-Brome, Jawuwan Martin and Anthony (Alisha) Martin all of Savannah Ga. Five Grandchildren; Quintavious Lee, Qua’ron Hilliard, Nyha Martin, Jalayah Martin, and Alaina Moultrie. Three sisters; Deborah Lynard, Ora Porter, and Joan Brown. Two brothers; Tommy (Demesha) Brown and Kemp Brown. Uncles; Bobby Jackson and Ulysses (Puggy) Jackson. Aunts; Bertha Jones, Betty Cordy, and Doris Cuby.

Two God grandsons; Da’Shawn Powell and Dontray J. Lewis and her special friend Jeffery L. Davis and many more loving friends and family.

Services will be private at this time and a Memorial Service will be planed announced at a later date..
