Donna Marie Thaggard, 60, of Savannah, passed away on May 18, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family and beloved cats, Pumpkin and Wink.
She was born on October 10, 1959 to the late William Arthur Thaggard and Betty Marie (Gattis) Thaggard. Donna earned a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Georgia Southern and a Master of Education Degree in Early Elementary Education from Armstrong State College. She graduated from Calvary Baptist Day School and returned there after obtaining her college degree as an elementary teacher for 38 years. She found joy in teaching multiple generations of Savannah's families.
Donna was a huge supporter of the school including the football, basketball, and volleyball teams. Her voice could be heard above all others cheering them on. She also would support her students by attending plays and sports on the weekends. Donna (Aunt Don Don) was a second mother to her nephews and would spend her summers and holidays with them. She also loved spending time with her friends, taking photo walks and scrapbooking. She was a member of First Baptist Church of the Islands where she served as a member of the choir and hospitality team.
Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Joe Niblett of Winter Park, Florida; three nephews, Brendon Niblett of Coral Springs, Florida, Jonathan Niblett of Riverview, Florida, and Mark Niblett of Winter Park, Florida and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 7, 2020 at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Temple, 4625 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA, 31404 in the Worship Center.
Graveside service for family will follow.
