Don Dimick

Don Dimick, age 85, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Mr. Dimick was born on November 11, 1934 in Davenport, IA, the son of the late Harry Austin Dimick and Florence Anna Harter Dimick. He was a graduate of Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. Following his formal education he served honorably in the United States Air Force. Don worked as a Draftsman for 56 years of which over 30 of those years were served with Hussey, Gay and Bell. After retiring he worked with The Cake Corner. Mr. Dimick served as a Minister of Music for 60 years. He served at South Gardens Baptist Church for 27 years and was a member of Heavenbound Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideons International and FOMOM.

Mr. Dimick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Dimick of Savannah; daughters, Deborah Sullivan (Shane, Sr.) and Deedee Shearouse (Craig) all of Savannah; son, Donnie Dimick (Jennifer) of Savannah; grandchildren, Shane Sullivan, Jr. (Lisa) of Cumming, GA, Stephanie Moore (Matthias) of Guyton, GA, and Kyle Merritt of Highlands, NC; step-grandchildren, Laina Dillon (Erin) of Atlanta, GA and Ben Shearouse of Savananh; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Dimick and Dennis Dimick, both of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2020 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406 with burial following at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shane Sullivan, Sr., Craig Shearouse, Shane Sullivan, Jr., Kyle Merritt, Matthias Moore, and Talmadge Fries.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Heavenbound Baptist Church, 1014 Quacco Road, Savannah, GA 31419.
