Donald A. Guyette

d. April 14, 2017

Donald A. Guyette, 68, of Savannah and husband of Wanell (Nell) Guyette, passed away, Monday afternoon, April 10, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA.

He suffers no more, and is at peace.

Donald had a fun loving heart as big as Texas. Loved playing card games like; Pinochle, Spades, and Hearts. Always a jokester loved to make people laugh, and he would do whatever it took to make it happen. Some of the things he would say were literarily on the verge of being inappropriate; if it made you laugh or chuckle he was happy.   He was a loving husband, father and friend to many. Each will have their own story to tell about Don. But, every story will always come back to his love of laughter.  He fancied himself as a Chef, and anything that caught his eye on the Food Network he always wanted to try, his favorite shows were Justin Wilson, Emeril Lagassi, and America's Test Kitchens.  Truthfully he was pretty good at it, his Lasagna, at Christmas and his Walnut, Goat Cheese, Date, Mushroom Dressing at Thanksgiving were out of this world. Thanksgiving that was his Holiday. He would start buying in July and planning and going through the cabinets in September to make sure he had everything and then the night before Thanksgiving he would start cooking the bird, set everything out and ready to go by 6am on Thanksgiving morning.

I ask if you have a memory you would care to share please do it. Don wouldn't want sadness, he was about life.

Remembrances may be made in Donald's memory to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.

I AM WITH YOU STILL

I give you this one thought to keep

I am with you still-do not weep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone-

I am with you still-in each new dawn.
