Derek Martin, 62, of Savannah, GA, passed away November 2, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born September 9, 1958 to the late Albert and Dorothy Johnson Martin in Savannah, GA. Mr. Martin was employed as a Custodian at Memorial Medical Center. Derek was very artistic, he could draw anything and was wonderful at calligraphy. He loved his family, the Dallas Cowboys, and loved to eat. Derek took his role as the oldest brother very seriously and liked to think he kept the family in line. He was a ladies man, a hard worker, and loved by his coworkers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Glenn.
Surviving are his three sons Xavier, Derek, and Malcom; five grandchildren, Byron, Londyn, Zaydin, Derek, and Savannah; three brothers and sisters in-law, Ronald (Lisa), David (Marilyn), and Kevin (India); two sisters and brothers in-law, Kathy (Henry), and Stephanie (Brett); three uncles, Freddie (Linda), Floyd (Debra), and Ronald; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday November 11, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406.
