Debra Windle Moore, 70, passed away in Lexington, KY on November 12th, 2024. She was born in Winchester, VA on September 2nd, 1954, to her parents Richard Eugene Windle and Frances Smith Windle. She & her family moved to Savannah, GA, around 8 years of age, where she lived most of her childhood & adult life. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband of 46 years, LeRoy Moore Jr. & many loved ones. She is survived by her 3 loving children, Ashley Mercer (Daniel) of Lexington, KY, Jonathan Moore (Nicole) of Jacksonville, FL and Katelyn Shaffer (Chance) of Wentzeville, MO, along with 9 beautiful grandchildren who she adored. She is also survived by her sisters, Jolisa Brooks (Terry) and Kandice Logue, both of Savannah, GA. She was affectionately known as Mom, Nana, Deb, Debbie or “Little Debbie”. She was a faithful & devoted follower of Christ. She was unwavering in devotion to her family. She treasured her time at home with her children when they were young & was afforded the opportunity to work in administration as they attended school. She then worked at The Home Depot (Abercorn Street) in Savannah, GA for nearly 15 years. She was a peacemaker, a mother-figure & a bright light to everyone who met her. She embodied many fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22 ESV) with her love, joy, kindness, humility, patience, peace, gentleness & faithfulness. She was a beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin & friend.
We are comforted & strengthened by our ever-present hope in Christ’s Jesus and in His second coming. Revelation 21:4 ESV-He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed.
