David Wayne Thaxton, Sr.,55, of Bloomingdale passed away Saturday, June 10th, 2017 in Hampton, Georgia.
Born in Austell, Georgia, he was the son of Albert Marvin Thaxton and Peggy Marie Giles. He was the owner of Thaxtons Tree Service. He volunteered as a coach for the Effingham County Recreation Department and Lakeside Ballpark.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandmother, Matilda D. Thompson.
Survivors include his children, Ashley Thaxton (Phillip Beasley), David Thaxton, Jr (Megan), Dustin Thaxton, Amanda Tomberlin (Jareb), his grandchildren, Brodie, Paisley, River, Seth, his spouse, Mary Thaxton, his father, Albert Thaxton, his sister, Teri (Tim) Gray, his brothers, B. Stephen Thaxton (Ann), Jim Beam (Kristin), several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15th, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 16th, 2017 at 12:00 pm in Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel, with interment to follow at Hillcrest - West Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
