David Craige Strack, age 65, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022.
David Craige Strack was born in New Jersey. He grew up in Florida, but spent most of his years in Georgia. David loved Savannah, and living close to the ocean. He never wanted to leave.
David was a wrestler in high school and graduated from Kennesaw State University. He worked as a chemist for Zep and a scientist and inventor for Kimberly-Clark and Clorox. During those years, he traveled the world and took out approximately 45 patents, working primarily with textiles, such as hospital scrubs, gowns and baby wipes. David had a passion for sports cars, guitars, blues music and traveling. David became Greek Orthodox after marrying his wife and was a member of St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Savannah.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; his son, Joshua Strack (Brittany); his step son, Christopher; three grandsons, Nate, Xavier, and Greyson; his mother, Linda Strack; his brother, Jim Strack, (Cheryl); a beloved god-daughter and niece, Kristen; two other nieces; his sister-in-law, Helen Serlis-Karchere; his beloved dog, Karma; and his fish, Bruce.
David was a remarkable person. He was very intelligent, creative, and kind-hearted. He was a very loving husband, son, father, grandfather, godfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by
all who knew him.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. A Trisagon service will be held at 3:00 p.m. after the visitation.
