David Walter Matechak

David Walter Matechak, age 49, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Matechak was born on April 24, 1970 in Scranton, PA. He attended Penn State University. Following his formal education he began his career as a journeyman, practicing his trade all over the country. David was of Catholic faith and grew up as a parishioner of Our Lady of Snows in Pennsylvania. He was also an avid golfer and sports fan, especially the Steelers and Penn State football.
Mr. Matechak is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Cherise Matechak; parents, Walter and Lorraine Matechak; and brother, Andrew Matechak.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.
