David Lee Cochran

October 22, 1958 — July 7, 2023

David Lee Cochran, 64, of Pembroke, passed away July 7, 2023 at Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 22, 1958, the youngest of eight, to the late Mary Estelle Boyles Cochran and Lymon Webb Cochran, Sr.

He was raised in Chatham County and attended Chatham County Schools. He was loved tremendously by his family and was a true Mama’s boy. Half rubber and pool were his favorite sports to play with his friends and neighbors. He will be remembered fondly for his deep devotion to family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pappa D”.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Stephen, L.W., Edward and Elton Cochran; niece, Donna Bazemore and granddaughter, Marylynn Cannon.

Surviving are his companion of more that 20 years, Valerie Conner; daughter, Shawna Brittni Burdette; daughter’s mother, Donna Brown; step-children, Blaze and Kacie; daughter-in-law, Taylor; grandchildren, Jaxen, Kynlee, Caleb, Mackaylynn, Heaven, Bruce and Blaze, Jr.; sisters, Marie Bazemore and Linda Cummings; brother, William J. Cochran; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, 1pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Deas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baker McCullough Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
