David Lamar Applewhite, affectionately known as "Dave" to his friends and family, passed away on February 5th 2024, in Savannah, GA.
Born on January 8th, 1972, in Goldsboro, NC, to Andrea Applewhite and Larry Parker. Dave was known for his exuberant spirit, his infectious love for basketball, and his legendary barber skills.
When Dave was growing up he had four siblings- 2 brothers ( Von and Joey) and 2 sisters (Krystal and Toshia). Dave lost his mother in early age and became a true caregiver with adult responsibilities. In those years all the siblings forged a bond that would last a lifetime.
After graduating high school, he went to college to earn his degree. Being a young man with adult responsibilities, Dave was doing his best to survive and be there for his siblings.
Professionally, Dave was respected as a greenhouses engineer, a flooring and renovation specialist. An avid reader and chess enthusiast, Dave’s hobbies reflected his love for strategy and the simple pleasures of life.
Later in life Dave met the love of his life and married his one and only, Polina Panfilova, and together they nurtured a family and a home that was a haven of love and laughter. Their union was blessed with two children, Victoria and Angelina. Dave’s legacy is carried on through his family, whom he loved with every fiber of his being.
Predeceased by his mother, Dave’s memory is honored and kept alive by his loving wife, Polina, his children (Victoria, Angelina, D’rahjae, Dominique, JaSean, Trajan and Davion), his grandchildren (Nalani , Nova, Xamia and Kamila), his brothers and sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
