David Allen Johnson Sr.,78 , of Savannah passed away peacefully Monday, June 26th, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Erwin, North Carolina , he was the son of Claude Johnson and Ella Mae Hall. He was an interior carpenter, and worked for Johnson-Dulaney Builders. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved his family, church and was an avid motorcylist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles R. Johnson, his grandson, Christopher Ootslander.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Venita E. Johnson, his children, Brenda Johnson (Scott), Melinda McEwen (Matt), Tammy Ootslander (Bobby), David Johnson, Jr., Robin Maddox (Dino), twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, his brother, Jerry Woodcock (Patsy) of Bluffton, SC, his sister in law, Gloria Johnson, of HHI, SC, nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends and his loving dog Boomer.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 29th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bible Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
