On Sunday, February 20, 2022, the world lost Dana Roy Harley. He was known for his love of family and his strong work ethic. When he worked, he worked hard, but when he played, he played harder. His life’s love was his daughter, MacKenzie. After her, the Windsor High School graduate loved boating, fishing, and sitting on the beach at Tybee Island listening to the Dave Matthews Band.
At his job working for Williams Services Group and recently Bechtel Power Corporation, he was known for being early on the job as Electrical Supervisor in Waynesboro, Georgia. He was preceded in death a few months earlier by his parents, Herman Lawrence Harley and Dorothy Royann Hinely Harley.
He is survived by his daughter MacKenzie Elizabeth Harley and her mother, Mara King Harley, his brother Earl Tyrone Harley (Jennifer), William Lawrence Harley (Tina), nieces Reagan Harley, Madeline Harley, and nephew, Stone Harley, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in Waynesboro, Augusta, Savannah, and Tybee Island, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Saturday June 4, 2022 from 10-11am with a Memorial Service beginning at 11am in the Chapel of the Funeral home. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed by using the link that will be provided here the morning of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation at Attn: Donor Services / Epilepsy Foundation 3540 Crain Highway Suite 675 Bowie, MD 20716.
The one thing he would add is, “GO DAWGS!”
