Dale “Moose” Lee Canterbury, Sr., 55, passed away February 24, 2021.
He was born August 29, 1965 to the late Dorothy Bell and Leonard James Canterbury, Sr. He was raised in Chatham County and graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in 1983. After graduation, he remained in the area and held many positions over the years. He was employed with Floyd Concrete for six years as a concrete worker before working as a dump truck driver and eventually a Crane Operator for ProBuild.
Dale loved his family and was a wonderful father. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with Little Dale and the two would take long rides as often as possible just to spend time together. He was an amazing cook who especially enjoyed grilling out.
He is preceded in death by his parents and nephews, Victor Fowley and Gary Mobley.
Surviving are his sons, Caleb Canterbury and Dale Lee Canterbury, Jr; siblings. Kenneth Jernigan, Marie Maddren, Donna Downes, Ann Shely, Leonard Canterbury, Jr., Alan Canterbury, and twin sister Gale Huddleston; nieces and nephews, Matthew Jernigan, Amanda Jernigan, Leslie Wilkes, Marlene Myers, Holly Maddren, Ashley Crapse, John Crapse, Amber Manson, Kelly Rigdon, Krystle Rigdon, and Kassie Grubbs; and high school friend and caregiver, Angie Ushery.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Noon in the pavilion across from Port Wentworth Alliance Church on Cantyre Street, Port Wentworth, Georgia.
