Corrie Marsh Hatcher, age 95, of Savannah, GA passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Mrs. Hatcher was born on September 19, 1927 in Hemingway, SC, the daughter of the late Italy Calhoun Marsh and Leila Janella Mae Cribb Marsh. She was a graduate of Winyah High School in Georgetown, SC where she played basketball. After graduating she moved to Savannah and began working with JC Penny Department Store. She later worked with Union Camp where she designed advertising for their paper products. She retired from Union Camp to start a family and enjoyed many years of loving for her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Olive Branch Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Temple. She was an expert seamstress and an avid reader. She was active with the PTA, both on the local and state levels and was instrumental in introducing vision testing into elementary schools.
Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Byron Hatcher; son, Greg B. Hatcher; and her siblings, Auburn Marsh, Legette Marsh, Clinton Marsh, Dalton Marsh, Cheryl Jean Yates, and Peggy Ann Tisdale. She is survived by her daughter, Debra H. Jones (Maurice); brother-in-law, Robert Hatcher; grandchildren, Jennifer Curry (Mitchell), Jeremy Williams (Magda), Justin Williams, Angel Kiley (Dan), Hollie Isenhower (Brian), Byron Hatcher (Chelsea), Nicole Hatcher, and Nate Hatcher; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Abbey West.
The family would like to extend a note of thanks to Compassus Hospice and Harmony of Savannah for their faithful and loving service to Mrs. Hatcher.
