Collie L. Brown, Jr., 78, of Meldrim died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Born in Lancaster County, Virginia, Collie is the son of the late Collie L. Brown, Sr. and Gladys Mary Emminizer Brown.
Collie was a US Air Force Veteran and a retired Diesel Mechanic for Great Southern. He attended Bloomingdale Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy and also Keys of the Kingdom Christian Fellowship Church. He was a Mason and a member of the Alee Temple. Collie enjoyed fishing.
He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Josephine Tillman Brown; 3 daughters, Wanda Hendrix Simmons (Scott), Angela Strickland(Jerry), Tina Foley (George); 8 grandchildren, Rachel Mole (Jordy), Laura Strickland, Mark Strickland, Victoria Hendrix, Noah Foley, Gabe Strickland, Collin Foley, Christian Foley; a great granddaughter, Elise Mole; 3 sisters, Janet, Eunice, Becky; 1 brother, Jimmy; several nieces and nephews.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
