Clyde "Bud" Burts Culbertson, Jr., 73, of Beaufort, SC passed away Saturday August 31, 2019 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
He was the Inspector and Assistant Town Engineer for the town of Hilton Head for over 15 years.
He retired from the United States Air Force (23 years) as a Master Sergeant and worked in Civil Engineering.
He loved Trains and was a member of the Beaufort Railroaders. He co-founded Toys for Kids Hugo in 1989 with Leea.
He was an Eagle Scout, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir as a young adult.
He enjoyed being a part of bowling leagues throughout his time in the military. He coached Alan's soccer team the Rough Riders for a season. Despite Bud's rough exterior, he had a heart of an angel.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Sr. and Hallie Culbertson; wife, Evelyn Best; and brother, William Culbertson.
Bud is survived by his sons, Timothy Michael Culbertson, Christopher Barrett Culbertson, and David Alan Culbertson (Dawn); daughter, Leea Michelle Davis (John); brother, James Thomas "Tom" Culbertson (Marsha); grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Craig, Cole, Angel, Brianna, and John III.
Graveside Service will be held at 1pm Tuesday September 10, 2019 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
