Cleta Lavonne Hodges Burnsed, age 93, died on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Azalealand Nursing Home in Savannah, GA.
Cleta was born on December 14, 1922 in Nevils, GA. She lived in Savannah, GA and Tybee Island most of her Adult life. She and her family moved to Eden, GA in the year 1977. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother and was especially known for her fantastic cooking and her beautiful garden. Her loyalty to the Atlanta Braves was unmatched.
Her husband, Franklin Burnsed, brothers, Lehman Hodges and Rufus Hodges, and sister Lucille Hodges, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her son, Ben Burnsed, daughter, Susan Burnsed Sanders (Dennis). Grandchildren, Jason Dennis Sanders (Catherine), April Michelle Sanders (Patrick), Hannah Elizabeth Burnsed, her Great Grandchildren, Ralph Robertson Sanders, and Patrick Tison Gilpin Jr.
Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Travis B. Cowart, Sr. and held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home on Hodgson Memorial Dr. at 11:00 a.m. The family will hold a visitation ceremony on Monday, at 10:00 a.m., preceding the Funeral Service. The family has requested the burial to be private.
