Claxton Lindsey,74, passed on to heaven Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 3:15 p.m. Claxton reunites with his beloved wife, Joyce Lee Howard Lindsey, who ascended to heaven September 19, 2017.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, Mattie and Roscoe Lindsey. Claxton was born in Coffee County Georgia and was one of three children born to Mattie and Roscoe. He has resided in Bloomingdale, Georgia for the past four decades.
Claxton is known by his family and his friends as a bit of a jokester with a great sense of humor. Some what of a wildlife whisperer, he is often found in his yard watching the birds and the squirrels or feeding a carrot to a stray rabbit. He also enjoyed Western movies, country music, boiled peanuts, Pepsi and spending time with friends and family.
Claxton is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law,Willie Dean and Abe Kidwell, Kathleen and Bobby Thompson; his children and there spouses,David and Sherry Lindsey, Karen Lane Lindsey and James Jones, Joe and Sue Hale, Betty Sue and Dennis Brower;. his grandchildren, Derek Lindsey, Shyan Lindsey, James Claxton Jones, Lindsay Jones, James Hale, Deborah Napier, and Tracy Mulligan; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Claxton, we love you and miss you. Please save a joke for when we meet again....
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m at the Funeral Home.
