Claudine passed away under Hospice care at her home in Pembroke after a long battle with breast cancer.
Claudine was a very proud Nana of two beautiful children. She loved to travel anywhere and everywhere. She and her husband were big fans of taking bus tours to see this great nation we all call home. She loved to collect magnets from every stop they made while traveling. Man, you should have seen her refrigerator! She was very proud to say she was married to not one, but two Marines. She loved to collect angels and butterflies and made sure her children had guardian angels to go in their cars to watch over them as they traveled.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas William “Champ” Champion and Thelma Rita Rountree Champion and her husband, David Hubert Phillips.
She is survived by her former husband and caretaker, Jack O. Dunlap. Her children William and Jessica Dunlap and Jessica and Gary Olliff. Her grandchildren Levi and Devan Dunlap. Her great-grandchildren Marissa and Rebecca Taylor. Her brother William “Buddy” Champion, and her sisters Katherine Jacobs, Gloria Canady and Lucy Lewis. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many friends.
