On April 25, 1937 Claudia Smalls was born to Peter Smalls Sr. and Corine Brooks-Smalls.
She began her early education in Savannah Ga for her early school years, and finished her education in Brooklyn New York where she Graduated from Eastern District High School.
Shortly after Graduation she met Warren Anthony Brown, (aka, Tooney Brown) also from Savannah Ga. From their union was born their daughter Brenda Sharon Brown in 1956.
Claudia began her professional career shortly thereafter, as representative for the New York Telephone Company. Over the course of 30 wonderful years at the phone company, Claudia held many position, none more special to her than when she was appointed as a New York Telephone Union Representative.
After 30 years of service, Claudia retired and returned to her home of Savanna Ga, where she became a foster mother during her early retirement years.
Claudia Smalls had many nick names and pet names from her many family and friends, but always answered to her favorite, when all in the family simply called her "THE BOSS"!!!!
She never met a stranger that wasn't welcome in her home, and over the years she was only too happy to take someone in her home who may have been down on their luck, until they got back up on their feet.
While Claudia always spoke her mind freely and honestly, we soon came to learn her bark was much worse that her bite!
Claudia Smalls will truly be missed by many, as she leaves a legacy of love and devotion.
