Claude Capers Sheen, age 66, of Shellman Bluff, GA, passed away on March 15, 2024. He fought bravely against leukemia but ultimately succumbed to the battle. Claude was a good man who believed in the value of friendship, always saying, "You have to be a friend to have a friend." He was deeply devoted to his family, his community, and helping those in need.
Claude was the former Owner of Boating Sales & Service and Bluff Boat & RV Storage in Shellman Bluff. He started his businesses in 2002, and sold them in 2023, to enjoy retirement with his soulmate Carol. They loved watching baseball, enjoying live music, traveling, and camping together.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Sheen, his sister Susan Emerine, brother-in-law Bob Lavery, father-in-law Robert Cutler, stepchildren Ryan Purcell, Cory Purcell, Lauren Purcell, nephew Bryan Tyner, niece Stephenie Tyner Hooker and husband Marshall, niece Sherry Tyner Funchess, and seven great nieces and nephews.
Claude was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Sheen, father, Gilbert Sheen, and brother, Tim Sheen.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His wife Carol would like to extend a special thank you to Rick Burnett, a true friend for his kindness, caring and help during these past months.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Boating Sales & Service, 1108 Boat Yard Way NE, Townsend, GA 31331.
