Claude Hudson, age 75, of Savannah passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at home.
Mr. Hudson was born on June 10, 1946 in Savannah, the son of the late Clower C. and Louise Hudson. He was a 1965 graduate of Jenkins High School and continued his formal education at Atlanta Christian College (now Point University). He was a 6 year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He began his career in finance, but was later called to serve in ministry for several Christian churches. He was a 32 year member of Compassion Christian Church where he served as a Bible teacher for numerous study groups and as a Decision Counselor, helping people come to Christ and to continue in their path with Him. He volunteered at Candler Hospital for over 20 years in the Chaplain Ministry. He and his wife were Foster Parents for 15 years loving children from babies to teenagers who aged out of foster care.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alice Hudson; children, Mark Claude Hudson, Lee Francis Hudson, Jessica Alice Brushwood (Matthew), and Henry Wiley (Kim); brother, Clark Hudson; grandchildren, Leacy Braddy (Tyler), Alison Bounds (Joshua), Nathan and Ava Brushwood and Eliza Wiley; and great-granddaughters, River Faye Braddy and Rowan Elise Bounds. He has many nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Compassion Christian Church – Henderson Campus, Adult Ministry Center (AMC), 50 Al Henderson Blvd., Savannah, GA 31419 (Across the street from the main building).
