Christopher "Chris" Ray Morris, 72, of Meldrim, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12th, 2024. A true native of Savannah, he was born on Thursday, November 15th, 1951 in Telfair Pavilion.
Christopher was a highly skilled electronics engineer/technician and the owner and operator of Chris Morris Electronics. He also worked at Rody's Audio Warehouse for 15 years. He was a talented drone and RC airplane pilot, serving several times as president and treasurer of the Tri County RC Flyers (aka The Flying Crackers). He was also a private small airplane pilot and a skilled musician who loved playing guitar. More accurately he was a problem solver who used his in-depth knowledge of applied physics to solve issues with sound systems in sanctuaries and auditoriums that baffled everyone else. He was known to repair high-profile musicians' equipment when they were in town for concerts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Cathy J. Sakas, older half-sister Betty Glynn Holmes, first cousins Rebecca Bodiford DiBlasi and LaTisha Morris Sapp, and many friends. His parents, Walter Ray Morris and Mary Christine Thigpen Morris, preceded him in death
Funeral services will be held at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, 2794 West US Highway 80 Garden City, GA 31408. (912) 964-2862.
