Christopher Lawrence Mahany

April 28, 1962 — April 5, 2024

Christopher “Chris” Mahany, age 61, of Savannah, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 5, 2024.

Chris was born to the parents of Lawrence Mahany and Carolyn Marchant Mahany. Chris graduated from Herschel V Jenkins High School in 1980. After graduation, he began working as an electrician at Braddy Electric, and also worked as an electrical superintendent at the Savannah Sugar Refinery for several years. In 1989, he was married to Marilyn Cowan and together they had four children.

Chris was goofy, witty, and family oriented. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, baseball, and playing the guitar. The family was often entertained by songs he would write for them. Chris also enjoyed giving the ones he loved and cared about nicknames. If you had a nickname that was given by Chris you must have been very special to him. Chris spent many years coaching little league baseball. He also enjoyed time spent with family and friends on Tybee Island.

Chris is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Cowan Mahany; his four children, Christopher Mahany (Kristina), Christian Mahany, Cayla Mahany, Carmen Mahany; two grandchildren, Alannah Mahany, and Callan Mahany; his brother, Patrick Mahany (Michelle); his sister, Kimberly Dixon (David); and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
