Christopher Lee “Chris” Morris, age 58, of Savannah passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at home.
Mr. Morris was born on September 21, 1963 in Brunswick, GA, the son of Lemar Morris and the late Mary Doyle Stapleton Morris Spence. Chris was a graduate of Calvary Day School and continued his formal education at the University of Georgia where he earned a degree in business. He served as an intern with Representative “Bo” Ginn and was a longtime friend of Senator Herman Talmadge and his family. He began his career with Dixie Crystals Sugar and later worked with the Chatham County Finance Department, retiring after 25 years as a Senior Budget and Management Analyst. He was a member of The Hibernian Society of Savannah, The Fenian Society of Savannah, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. He was a historian and particularly enjoyed Georgia, Savannah, and Rose Dhu history. He was an amateur beekeeper and founder of Honey Dhu Honey and was also a Master Falconer.
Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Brady Patricia Grace Morris; father, Lemar Morris (Denise); sister, Cara Morris; aunt, Ann Daniel "his Annie"; and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
