Chief Petty Officer Paul James Naydeck, Jr., U.S. Navy (Ret), age 81, of Savannah passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at home.
Mr. Naydeck was born on November 18, 1940 in Tarentum, PA, the son of the late Paul James Naydeck, Sr. and Mary Janech Naydeck. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy where he served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer. Following his military tenure he operated multiple franchises of Naydeck Guarantee Carpet Cleaning until retiring in 2005. Paul was a longtime member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where he was active with the choir and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Mr. Naydeck was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy Jean Naydeck. He is survived by his children, Renee Naydeck Crocco (Ivan), Paul James Naydeck, III (Mandy), Michael Naydeck (Sheila), Sherry Naydeck Goodwin (Bobby), and Nathan Naydeck; sisters, Joanne Ventorini (Bob), Margie Krajci (Jerry), and Denise Bradley (Keith); brother, Michael Naydeck (Sherry); grandchildren, Tony Crocco, Sarah Crocco, Grace Naydeck, Lane Naydeck, Madison Naydeck, and Sandra Goodwin; step-grandchildren, Austin Cook and Ashley Bouthillet; and great-granddaughters, Amelia Tomlin and Stella Mae Tomlin.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 11500 Middleground Road, Savannah, GA 31419.
A private graveside funeral service will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
