Cheryl Garrett Hendricks

Mrs. Cheryl Lynn Garrett Hendricks, passed away at home with her family in Guyton, GA Tuesday, September 13, 2016. She was born October 19, 1952 in Greenville, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Chatham County and was a graduate of H.V. Jenkins High School. She retired this year after a long career with the Effingham County Board of Education.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Carl LaFayette Hendricks, II of Guyton and her son Courtland LaFayette Hendricks (Michelle Narayanan) of Florence, SC, her sister Debra Kay Garrett Byers of Savannah, brother Russell (Pearis) Garrett of Richmond Hill, GA, nephews Michael Byers (Ryan Hannah) of Vienna, VA, and Dave Scalise of Richmond Hill, GA, nieces Brittany Hendricks of Guyton, GA, Sutton and Sara Kate Garrett of Richmond Hill, GA and Kalyn Byers of Savannah, GA, and brother-in law Garry Lee (Cindy) Hendricks of Guyton, GA, father and mother in law Carl LaFayette Hendricks, Sr. and Sequel Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell Robert Garrett, Jr., the late Bertie Constance (Proffitt) Garrett, and brother-in law Truitt E. Byers of Savannah, GA.

A celebration of life will be casual attire held at the Alee Shrine Center Arena at 100 Eisenberg Drive, Savannah, GA on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
