Charlotte H. Akins

Charlotte Higgs Akins, 82, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Nov 29, 2016 at Memorial Medical Health University.

She was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Floyd Higgs and Mary Nina Eason, grandson, Patrick Thompson, and sister, Mary H. Tyler.

She was a life long member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Faithful Sunday School Class, the Lydia Circle, and she was Chairman of the Finance Committee.

She was retired from Erickson Associates Inc.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Aubrey Akins, a daughter, Shawn A. Thompson (John), granddaughter, Allison Saunders (Christopher), great grandchild, Harrison Saunders, nieces, Kelly Ginn (Junior), Mary Sullivan, (Patrick) Denise Thomas, nephew, Reed Tyler (Nazira),

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services: 12:00 p.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Purnell,
officiating.
