Charlotte Ann Bowers

Charlotte Ann Sanders Bowers, 75, of Port Wentworth, GA passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Oaks at Pooler.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Richard Davant Sanders Sr. and Eleanore Parrish Sanders.

Mrs. Bowers was an elementary school teacher for many years with the Savannah-Chatham County School System. She enjoyed teaching children and watching them blossom in their education. In her spare time, she enjoyed all manner of crafting, photography and painting. She was an avid music lover.

Mrs. Bowers was most recently a member of Gray United Methodist Church; however, she was a lifelong choir and hand bell choir member at Robert McIntyre and White Bluff United Methodist Churches. She loved to praise God with her music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Cleveland Giles Bowers.

Survivors include son, Dr. Christopher G. Bowers (Lisa); daughter, Ann Kephart (Bradley); grandchildren, Lawson and Annalise Bowers; brother, Richard D. Sanders Jr. (Kathleen); cousins, Jack Sanders (Madeline) and Judy Sanders Ginn (Robert); nephews, Richard A Sanders (Jenna) and Clay Sanders (Ashley); niece, Ellen Crytzer (Brian); best friend, Jean Shearer; and close family friends, Sandra and Eric Linder.

Visitation will be held Sunday June 2, 2024 from 4-6pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday June 3, 2024 at 11am in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. C.G. "Sonny" Waldon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
