In loving memory, we lost a great man today.
Charles Henry Stokes Jr. left to go home to heaven. He was born June 2,1947 and passed away on April 21, 2025.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Solomon's Lodge #1, Associate member of Richard Turner #116, 50 year member of the Scottish Rite, KCCH Knights Templar, 50 year member of Alee Temple, Oriental Band President in 1989, Past Potentate 1995, member of Cabiri.
He honorably served in the Army National Guard and after his military service, went on to become the Owner of Stokes Produce in Garden City for 30 years.
Charles was married for 59 years to the love of his life, Marion Chapman Stokes.
Charles is survived by wife, Marion Stokes; son, Kevin Stokes (Pam); grandson, Clifton Stokes (Melinda); three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kinzley and Brantley; brother, Earl Stokes (Shirley); sister, Dorothy Stokes and several nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in passing by a daughter, Kim Michele Stokes; parents, Mr. Charles Henry Stokes Sr. and Mrs. Estelle Sapp Stokes; brothers, James R. Stokes, Paul Stokes and Waring Stokes; sisters, Dennie Burgess and Christine Jarrell Stokes.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elkins Cemetery on Highway 204.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, a cause that was close to Charles' heart.
