Charles Phillips Sr.,90, of Savannah GA passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Hospice Savannah with his family by his side.
Charles was born on May 30, 1933, native of Collins Georgia, he was the son of Albert Phillips and Edna Lee Phillips. Charles Graduated from Commercial High School then advanced to working as a Machinist at Tetley Tea for 40 years. Charles was a dedicated member of 1st Assembly of God, 1901 Pennsylvania Ave Savannah, Georgia for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by Albert Phillips (father), Edna Kennedy (mother), Jerri Phillips (wife), Charles Phillips Jr. (son), Hendry Phillips (bother), James Phillips (brother), Mattamay Couch (sister, JL Phillips (brother).
Survivors include Sons Richard Steven Phillips (Debra), Anthony Phillips (Cheryl), and Edwin Phillips of Black Creek, GA. Charles is also survived by Mary Lou Zipperer Bowers of Pooler, GA and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
