Charles G. Edwards, Jr. (C.G.) passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday August 11, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was 82 years old.
C.G. was born and raised in Clyo, Ga. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles G. Edwards and Grace Edwards, Three brothers, Thomas Graham, Dale Edwards and Trueman Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beverly Cannady Edwards, Two children, Teresa Edwards Moore (Gary) of Savannah and Kevin Edwards (Vickie) of Jacksonville, FL , one brother Ossie Edwards (Frankie) and one sister Linda Arnold of Statesboro, Ga., Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was an active member of the Alee Shrine Club for the last 45 years and served as President from 2009-2010 for the SESPGA (Provost Guard). He was also a member of the Zerubbabel Lodge, and the Effingham, Screven and Bryan County Shrine Clubs, the Scottish Rite and Moose Lodge. He was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad.
Visitation will be Monday August 13, 2018 from 5-7 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 2794 U.S. Hwy 80 W. in Garden City. A graveside Masonic Funeral Service will be Tuesday August 14, 2018 at 1pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
