Charles Ernest Bailey

Charles Ernest Bailey, age 77, of Savannah passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020.
Mr. Bailey was born on February 25, 1943 in Orangeburg, SC, the son of the late Edward Lewis and Mary G. Sanford Bailey. He was a graduate of Windsor Forest High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as an insurance agent, retiring from Aflac after 45 years of service. He was a member and Past President of the Exchange Club and was a member of the Toastmasters. Outside of work and civic involvement he enjoyed finishing wood and woodworking.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his sons, Robert C. Bailey and Christopher Charles Bailey; brother, Edward Bailey; and sister, Camilla Hughes. He is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Jean Randall; daughter, Michelle Dyer (Patrick); stepson, Richard L. Randall (Gina Marie); brothers, Jimmy Sanford (Terri) and Webster Sanford; brother-in-law, Thomas Hughes; and grandchildren, Joshua Dyer, Katie Dyer, Chris “CJ” Bailey Dulin, and Elizabeth Bailey Dulin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Aflac Cancer Center, Atlanta, GA.
