Cathryn P. Griffin

Cathryn P. Griffin, age 88, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at home with family by her side.

Mrs. Griffin was born on October 20, 1932 in Rocky Ford, GA, the daughter of the late Dahlia and Orel Dean Parker. She was a graduate of Screven County High School and after graduating moved to Savannah where she began her career as a Buyer with M&M Supermarkets. She later worked in accounting with Kahn & Company until retiring. She was an active member of First Christian Church. Cathryn enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved the time she spent with them.

Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, William S. “Sam” Griffin and stepson, James W. Griffin. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy G. Porter (Kenny) and Patricia G. Williams (Michael); son, John S. Griffin (Nancy); stepdaughter, Betty Jo Harris (Michael); grandchildren, Kristen Willoughby (Michael), Krystle White (Ross), Candice Porter (Tony Kim), Nikki King, and Ashley Carmicheal (Brandon); and 11 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with Pastor W. Kershaw Getty officiating at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be; Michael Willoughby, Ross White, Colin Willoughby, Cody Willoughby, Wayne Parker, and Richard Parker.
