Catherine Thompson Wise

Mrs. Catherine Thompson Wise, 90, succumbed to a long term illness on February 20, 2019. Mrs. Wise was a long term resident of Savannah, coming here after completing business courses at Columbia Commercial College in Columbia, South Carolina.

After working at an insurance office, Mrs. Wise began working at the Savannah Red Cross in July, 1949. She became the assistant to the director of the Savannah Regional Red Cross where she worked until she retired in December, 1988.

Mrs. Wise was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she was active in the senior women's Sunday school class and the weekday exercise class.

Mrs. Wise is preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Alfred Thompson and Ruby Williams Thompson, and her younger brother Charles Walter Thompson. She is survived by her brother William A. Thompson (Helen) of Seminole, Florida; a sister Pamela W. Lowe (Aubrey) of Greenville, South Carolina; and sister in law Susan Z. Thompson of Savannah; along with 7 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park on Friday February 22 at 2PM.
