Catherine Smith Higgins, age 94, of Savannah passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Mrs. Higgins was born on December 29, 1928 in Long Island, New York. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and retired from C & S Bank, where she worked as a bank teller for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Higgins.
Surviving family members include her son, Michael Higgins and wife Kathleen Higgins of St. Marys, GA; daughters, Karen Higgins of Savannah, GA and Patricia Carney and her husband Wayne Carney of Ellabell, GA.; Grandchildren, Allison Higgins of Meade, OK, Christopher Higgins of St. John’s, FL, Brian Carney and his wife Ashley Carney and her great grandchild Landon of Winterville, NC.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Hillcrest Abbey West (1336 Dean Forest Rd. Savannah, GA 31405).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah (7215 Sallie Mood Dr. Savannah, GA 31406).
