Catherine B. “Cathy” Parker, 78, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Mrs. Parker was born on May 16, 1942 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Clarence Poe and Jeanette Douglas Blackwelder. She was a graduate of Jenkins High School and worked as an office manager for Dr. Masroor for 22 years. She was a longtime member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church. She loved her church, her family, and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader, and loved the Christmas holiday.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronald V. “Ron” Parker. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn J. Fuehrer (Tom) and Sarabeth Scott (Jonathan); siblings, Poe “Junior” Blackwelder (Sheryl), Frances Bedgood (Glenn), Garry Blackwelder, and Alan Blackwelder (Laura); and grandchildren, Cali, Codi, Christopher, and Alyssa.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel with burial following at Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please extend an act of kindness in memory of Mrs. Parker.
