Caroline A. Smith, age 76, of Savannah passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021.
Mrs. Smith was born in Athens, GA on April 1, 1945, the daughter of the late Anne Shirley Wolcott and Guy Amason, Sr. She was a graduate of Armstrong State College where she earned a degree in accounting. She served as an accountant for many years until retiring. She was a member of Asbury Memorial Church and was a former member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Red Hat Society. Caroline was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 21 years, Charles M. Smith. She is survived by her sons, Carey Smith (Page) of Savannah and Stephen C. Smith, Jr. (Kimberly) of Dacula, GA; daughter, Shirley A. Jones (Christopher) of California; brother, Charles Wolcott Amason (Anne); and grandchildren, Danae, Christian, Joshua, Carter, Savannah, Charlee Anne, and Jamison.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Asbury Memorial Church, 1008 Henry Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
