Carol Hughes Hinson, 77, of Savannah, GA, passed away on November 26, at Candler Hospital after a long illness. She was born to Ruth Sabine Harrison and the late William Hughes in Syracuse, NY. She was the oldest of eight siblings. She moved to Savannah, GA in 1967.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years Murphy Roy Hinson; her mother, Ruth Sabine Harrison. She had four children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Schneider and survived by her children, Gene Schneider (Elaine), Shelly Kelly McKenzie (Marty), and David Kelly.

She had seven grandchildren, Mindy Crawford (Michael), Jessica McKenzie, Chris McKenzie (Katie), Alissa Kelly, Hunter Kelly, Harmony Kelly, and Dawson Kelly. She also had five grandchildren in New York and 17 great grandchildren.

Carol worked at Memorial University Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital as a Lab Technician. She later worked at Candler Hospital as a Medical Coder. She was a former member of First Church of the Nazarene and later joined Bull Street Baptist Church.

She was a member of the VNEA Pool League and enjoyed taking trips and playing in tournaments with her billiard friends. She has taken care of her Mother for the past eight years.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m., at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
