Calvin Richard Page, passed away peacefully, with loving Family at his side on Jan 5, 2016 at Effingham Health Systems in Springfield, Ga. Calvin was born in Surrency, Ga., on January 29, 1928.
As a young man of seventeen he joined the U. S. Navy, and served from 1946 to 1952. After 21 years employment at Union Camp, he retired and started Page Fence Company in 1970. His business experienced much success as Calvin was a honest quiet and hard working man. He was a man of great Faith who loved the Lord, lived his beliefs and loved his family. As a devout Christian, he served many years at Bible Baptist Church in Savannah, where he was treasurer, deacon, Sunday School Leader and various other positions wherever he was needed. He later worshipped at Hope Baptist Church in Savannah and Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro, Ga. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Guyton, where his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Urias Calvin Page and Minnie Lee Rowland; a daughter, Patricia Ann Page; two brothers, Mackie Lee and Bennie, two sisters, Pearlie and Mabel.
He is survived by the love of his life, for 66 years, Betty Jo Page. Two sons, Freddie Page (Susan) of Guyton, and Wayne Page (Sharon) of Savannah. Three grandchildren, Ryan Page (Crystal), Lindsay Chance (Lee) and Ashley Page, Three great granddaughters, Brianna, Hauber, and Raelyn and Blakely Chance., Four sisters, Beatrice Carter, Ollie Johnson, Laverne Stone and Sarah Pevey (Tommy) all of Baxley, Ga.; one sister in law, Shirley Page of Savannah, and many nieces and nephews.
The Family extends a loving and sincere thanks to the entire staff of the Effingham Care Center in Springfield, Georgia. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for the love and dignity you extended through your care for this man we loved and cherished so much. A special thank you to Agnes Porter, who went the extra mile in her loving concern. May God bless you all.
Visitation: 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel, January 10, 2016.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel, with Rev. John Tramell, officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be: Lee Chance, Lynn Dunlap, Squire Futch, Gary Page, Tommy Pevey, and Glenn Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Don Hahn, Sr., Olin King, Jerry King, Gary Lanier, Jesse Payton, Willard Sikes, and Dan Womble.
Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
