Bruce Robert Hudson passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, in Savannah, GA, after a long illness. He was born on June 21, 1951 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Hudson and Gertrude (Trudy) Miels Hudson, and his brother, Jeff Hudson.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara Hodge Hudson; his step-daughter and her husband, Angie and Jeff Stewart; granddaughter, Ava Stewart; brother and sister-in-law, James B. and Susan Hudson of Roanoke County, VA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Janet Hodge and Brenda and Paul Iwanski; and several nieces and nephews.
Though his later years were filled with physical discomfort and limitations, he never once complained and always had a positive and happy attitude. The family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
Bruce was always the first to raise his glass and make a toast and the last to finish his dinner. He was a hard worker and a good friend to many. He often took the time to visit others in their times of need. Bruce cherished his wife, Barbara, who rarely left his side during the past several months of his illness.
The family wishes to thank Bonnie and Edward Horn and Vicky Bland for all of their caring, kindness and friendship during Bruce’s illness.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Bruce touched are invited to attend a service to celebrate his life at Silk Hope Baptist Church, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon).
In remembrance of Bruce, donations may be made to Silk Hope Baptist Church, 4929 Pineland Dr., Savannah, GA 31405, or to a charity of your choice.
