Bruce Alan Marlowe, age 66, and husband of Jeannie Marlowe, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, August 19, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Bruce was born April 21, 1945 in Long Branch, NJ to the late Virgil Marlowe Sr. and Frances DeYoung Marlowe. Bruce retired with the Medal of Valor from the Savannah Police Department after twenty eight years of service and was a four year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, "Jeannie" Marlowe, his daughter, Amanda Marlowe, and two sons; Joseph Marlowe and wife Sheila, Scott Marlowe and wife Sandra, three brothers, Virgil Marlowe, Jr., William Marlowe, and Michael Marlowe, two sisters, Cindy Murray and Gina Ganley, six grandchildren, Chelsea Marlowe, Kaitlyn Marlowe, Austin Marlowe, Lindsay Powell, Ally Beth Marlowe and Mallory Marlowe and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a Vigil Service to be held at 6 pm.
