On January 12, 1956 Brenda Sharon Brown a.k.a. Pobey was born to the late Claudia Smalls and Warren Anthony Brown (a.k.a. Tooney). She began her early education in Brooklyn, New York and finished her education in Brooklyn, New York where she graduated from Bishop Laughlin High School. Shortly after graduation she met George Daniels also from Brooklyn, and from that Union was born their son D'Sean Daniels in 1979. Years after she met Edward E. Wilson from Brooklyn and from their union was born their daughters Brie Wilson in 1986, (who preceded her in death) and Nicole Wilson in 1988. She moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1988 where she met the love of her life and best friend Sherry Bartley, from that union she gained three wonderful children, who she loved dearly, Sandra Bartley, Jerry Armstead, and Jason Bartley. She went on to study at Savannah State University where she graduated Mangna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in 1997. She was employed by Memorial Health Medical Center doing telecommunity. Which she loved to do because she "LOVED" to talk. She also had a big heart and passion to help others. While working at Memorial, she became a mother figure to so many. She adored her co-workers. In 2001, she began a relationship with Elaine Williams (who preceded her in death) they were together for seventeen years until Elaine's passing. Brenda and Elaine were known in the LGBT community as Mami and Papi and they a whole bunch of Churen. As we celebrate the home going of Brenda Brown she leaves the world to remember her.

Her family includes her spouse of thirty-six years, Sherry Bartley of Savannah; her sons, D'Sean Daniels (Helena) Jerry Armstead, and Jason Bartley; her daughters, Nicole Wilson and Sandra Bartley; her sisters, Regina Boyd (her twin), Tarsha Jones, and Debra Bryant; her brothers, Ricky Brown and Anthony Smalls; her grandchildren, Taquavia Guzman (Gabe), D'Shauna Gordon, Kyreese Gordon, Michael Greene, Foster Williams, Jerry Armstead Jr., Jerniyah Armstead, Jermiah Armstead, Queen Armstead, Chelsea Hicks and Peyton Vargas; her great-grandchildren, Penelope Guzman, Grayson Guzman, Gianna Guzman, Lincoln Guzman, Garrett Guzman and Karsen Hicks; and very special aunts, Patricia Bowers, Romona Smalls-Hill. While Brenda Brown had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly. Her four legged baby who she loved with her heart Migo Brown, who was named after her favorite rap group. Written in Brenda's words she wanted her family and friends to know, "I lived my life to the fullest. I loved my children with all my heart. My grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to me."

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.) from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Tammie McFadden officiating.
