Bobby Lavern Simons Sr. ,81 , of 203 Cypress Cove Ln in Rincon passed away Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 at Effingham County Hospital .
A native of Bloomingdale, Georgia , he was the son of William Simon and Annie Belle Grizzard Simons . He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy., having served in the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a Journeyman for Great Dane Trailers for 24 years, Great Dane Trailers for 8 years, Hersheys for 8 years, and the Mighty Eighth Air Force for 2 years. He was a former member of Ash Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his Wife: Mary Ann Brown Simons; Son: Bobby Lavern Simons, Jr.;
Brother in laws, Bill Maddox and Horace Moss, Grandchildren: Bobby Simons, III, Megan Simons, Elizabeth Kem, Michael Todd,Tiffany Simons, Staci Smith, R. J. Smith, and Niki Walker; Great Grandchildren: Cameron, Caleb, Wyatt, Lillian, Joel, Carson, Bryce, Marli, Liam, Hayden, and Rebecca; Niece, Ladean Brown;
Nephew: Julian Brown and Lavon Findley, .
Visitation: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: 12 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Rev. Brad Proudfoot and Rev. Kenny Harrelson, officiating.
Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
