Bobby Ray Tucker

March 28, 1936 — June 28, 2021

Our beloved, Bobby Ray Tucker, was called home on June 28, 2021 to begin his new Life in Heaven. He was born in Claxton, GA on March 28, 1936. He graduated from Commercial High School, where he excelled in basketball.

Bobby’s professional career was focused in safety. He was a Safety Manager with Kaiser Aluminum for approximately 30 years and then retired from Gulfstream Aerospace as the Director of Industrial Safety and Health.

The great love affair of his life was with Carolyn Hendley Tucker, his wife of more than 65 years. They met as teenagers and shared a long life making rich memories.

Bobby’s proudest accomplishment was raising his three children, Stephanie Duttenhaver (John), Jeff Tucker (Amy), and Jennifer Gray (Jerry). He was the rock of our family and taught us all the values of honesty, hard work, kindness, and fairness.

Bobby’s grandchildren, James (Kathryn), Whitney (Will), Carey, and Kimberly, and his great grandchildren, Emma and Hudson, were the bright lights of his retirement years. They filled his heart with joy and he spent countless hours with each instilling them with his wisdom and love.

A Celebration of Bobby’s Life will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Skidaway Island Baptist Church, 2 Westridge Road, Savannah, GA 31411. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Skidaway Island Baptist Church or Hospice Savannah.
