Billigene S. Lewis, age 83, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2023.
Mrs. Lewis was born on April 30, 1939 in Bulloch County to the late Frank L. Smith, Sr., and the late Connie Skinner Smith. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a homemaker for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Lewis. She is survived by her sister Linda Smith Williams, (Larry) of Chattanooga, TN and brother Frank L. Smith, Jr of Decatur, GA, two nephews, Larry M. Williams, IV (Kim), Maryville, TN, and Lance S. Williams (Pam) of Murfreesboro, TN, and niece Linka W. Pace (Perry) of Des Moines, IA.
Along with her volunteer services through her church, she enjoyed gardening and serving many years with the St Joseph Auxiliary Volunteer Services.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St. Beaufort, SC 29902).
